SUMMER 2024 STYLE GUIDE
Happy Summer to all who celebrate! It is finally starting to heat up in San Diego so warm weather “wears” are flying off the racks. To guide all of your fashionable eyes, I have compiled moodboards for each trend taking over Summer 2024. Each pattern, cut, wash and style are perfect additions to your wardrobe and with my tips & tricks will have your Pinterest boards coming to life.
BEADS, SEQUINS, SPARKLES, OH MY!
Beaded embellishments add the perfect combination of fun colors, textures and a touch of tasteful sparkle to your summer wardrobe. Take your staple pieces from basic to summer-ready by throwing on a beaded bag, top, or skirt!
The warmer months are the best time to experiment with your personal style. Fashion should be fun, so wear the sequins! Mix patterns! I personally love a beaded bag paired with a classic white tee and relaxed blue jeans combo. Or swap the jeans for a fun flashy skirt and neutral bag instead! The key to effortlessly styling this trend is balancing the sparkle. The contrast of sparkle and simple is so feminine and chic when done right!
BUTTER YELLOW
Like everyone and their mother, I am obsessed with butter yellow. Arguably the color of the summer, this warm pastel hue is both a neutral and pop of color all in one! Not to mention how bright and energetic yellow is! How could you be sad in a yellow outfit? Hint: you can’t! I have a few yellow pieces in my wardrobe, my favorite being my Daily Drills set! It is the perfect outfit post beach day, for lounging around, or a coffee run!
To style butter yellow, pair the color with white or light wash denim! For an extra fun color blocking look pair a yellow base with other fun pinks, oranges, and blues in a hat, sneaker, or bag! Either way, have fun crafting your happy wardrobe and soak up the butter yellow serotonin boost!
DENIM & STRIPES
LIGHT WASH DENIM
Light wash denim screams summer to me. A good pair of denim shorts or jeans, slightly worn and faded to perfection are the best base for all of your summer styles. I have been really into a looser, low/mid rise fit for a relaxed look! Denim on denim is also a foolproof outfit! Throw on some summer jewels, colored bag + sneaker combo and you are good to go.
STRIPES! STRIPES! STRIPES!
Yellow may be the color of the summer, but stripes take the #1 pattern spot by far! Stripes are so versatile and add interest to any outfit. If you are feeling adventurous, opt for a stripe on stripe statement. It may seem redundant but trust me, when styled it is so fun! My favorite striped look is a striped tee + boxer combo with a fun sneaker. bonus points for mixing vertical and horizontal stripes:)
WHITE ON WHITE
This one might seem self explanatory but color and pattern aside, you cannot go wrong with an all white outfit! Mixing white denim, cottons, linens, and silks creates all the visual interest you need. Let the simplicity of the palette speak for itself and instead focus on fit and structure. Contrast a barrel jean with a flowy top or go all linen for that Euro summer vibe. Complete your look with simple jewelry and accessories for an understated yet put-together look!
BACKLESS TOPS
Say hello to business in the front party in the back! A backless top elevates any outfit and seamlessly transforms a daytime look to a nighttime look! To further accentuate the open back, style your hair in an up-do. Most backless tops are also halter-style which is perfect to wear over a bikini! I love a flowy backless top, tunic length, over a pair of shorts or a tight fitting open back top with a loose pair of jeans.
JEWELS
All of the outfits above would not be complete without summer jewels! As a gold girl myself, chunky gold bracelets are my favorite right now! A fun dangly earring is also the perfect pop of color! Layer on the statement earrings, shell pendants, and pearly pieces to bring out your inner Aquamarine. Have fun with your jewelry! It may seem small but can truly transform any outfit!
