I’M BACK

Hello I am back! This past month I was feeling uninspired and a bit stuck in the direction I want this blog to go. Even though I still do not have much of a plan, I know this community makes me so so happy and I want to keep growing and connecting with all of you:) Today I am going to fill you in on what I have been up to and share some of my recent thoughts. I hope you enjoy!

I think I love running. This summer I started running for fun and to move my body which has been such a game changer. I used to dread running in the hell that was middle school PE but now I get to style my hair, put on a cute work out set, and jam out to music. SO FUN. It’s honestly such a treat and my body thanks me for it. Normally I run alone along the coast in the early mornings. The sun isn’t quite out yet and the marine layer is nice and chilly:) I love seeing other women running alone just like me. It's motivating and makes me want to keep going even when I am tired or want to quit. Once I finish a run, I feel so energized, accomplished and strong. I may be a sweaty mess but my mind is clear and ready to tackle the rest of the day. I also just recently ran with my Dad. He wore a DG Parents Weekend shirt that he asked me to cut into a muscle tank which definitely made him run faster. We did a 3 mile route along the 101 and then I jumped into the ocean at sunset for a nice cool down. It was heavenly. I wasn’t sure how I would feel running with a companion. I am so used to dialing into whatever EDM banger I am listening to and blocking everything else out. But the sounds of ocean waves crashing, my dad’s words of encouragement and his company in general was awesome!

My dad and I also both play guitar:) Recently I just learned how to play Dear John and Crazier on my acoustic which has been so fun and nostalgic.

I have been a thrifting machine this summer. I go to the Goodwill bins weekly to dig for treasures. This is no easy task. I thought running was a good workout? Try rummaging through a 6 ft tall bin of clothes without falling in. Hint: challenging. I love thrifting especially at the bins because you never know what you are going to find. Some of my favorite finds include the most perfect pair of Wrangler jeans that are baggy and sit just right on my hips. I want to be buried in these jeans. Honorable mentions: Hammerhead shark costume (unfortunately I did not purchase) and all of the adorable baby clothes:) Not to mention thrifting is fabulous for the environment, your wallet, and curating a style that is uniquely yours.

I have been heavily hyper fixated on Cinnamon Toast Crunch this past month. By far the best cereal on the market and I will continue to consume boxes on boxes of those sugary squares.

My mom and I are still watching Vanderpump Rules. IT’S SO BAD IT’S GOOD. We are halfway through season 4 with no end in sight as there are 10 seasons. This show thrives on three overgrown frat boys, a 23 year old british weasel, the icon that is Lisa Vanderpump, and your classic “move to LA to be famous” group of women. It’s a car crash that I simply cannot bring myself to look away from out of the chance that I will miss something so feral and shameless that my brain cells will begin to die off at the mere sight of such disaster. Talk about dramaaaa.

Speaking of drama, my family sadly had to say goodbye to my dog Daisy last week:( Daisy was 13 and lived a fantastic life for a yorkie. She has cheated death on many accounts. Daisy: 1, Coyote: 0, Daisy: 1, Entire plate of cheddar cheese: 0. I felt quite a bit of grief the last month pre and post doggie death but I am so glad Daisy is reunited with her sister Violet. So much love for my Daisy girl!

As you can probably tell I have been staying busy this past month and I am beyond ready to get back on campus and start school again. I am so excited to see what Junior Year has in store! I hope to learn, grow, laugh, consume alcohol legally after February 16th (yay), and continue to share with all of you:) I LOVE YOU ALL AND AS ALWAYS xoxo, HAGO.
